Ashlie and Kyle - Red Deer Wedding
We are currently busy packing for Newfoundland, but I found some time to blog this oh so stunning wedding!
I met Ashlie and Kyle last year for a consultation and knew right away that they were the right clients for me. They both said they were looking for natural, candid images with only minimal posing –which is totally my style! They loved my moody look and decided to book with me right away. Throughout the year we did a couple sessions including their engagement session which was a ton of fun. I got to know them as a couple and it made photographing their wedding so darn special.
Now, as many of you know, wedding days don’t always go as planned. Initially they had planned for an outdoor wedding in Coronation Park but unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans in mind. Red Deer had one of its crazy rain storms that include wind which wasn’t a fun cocktail so instead The Black Night Inn had an amazing indoor space which was the perfect spot for their ceremony. They said their vows in front of their family and friends and happy tears were shed (including behind the camera).
After the ceremony it was still raining but showing some signs of stopping. In preparation for the forecast I had contacted Blue Grass Sod Farm about possibly doing some pictures there and they were more than happy to accommodate. Not every couple would be happy about the idea of doing pictures inside of a greenhouse, but Ashlie and Kyle trusted me completely and were totally on board with heading there. I am so glad because the lighting was incredible and they ended up being such unique images.
As we were finishing up, the rain was starting to stop and we could see the clouds starting to break apart. Kyle is a competitive golfer and holds a membership at the Red Deer Golf Club so we headed over there to take some shots. Luckily because of the gloomy weather (which is actually my favorite for pictures) the course wasn’t busy at all so we got to take a couple carts out and do some pictures with the bridal party.
It was an incredibly beautiful day full of so many amazing moments. I hope you enjoy!
