S + R - Alberta Wedding
I met Sam and Robert for their engagement session while I was still living in Alberta. We took their engagement pictures during a warm summer's day in Red Deer. I could see their connection then, and I couldn't wait to photograph their big day.
Last summer was my first summer photographing weddings in Newfoundland, and it was my businst summer in business yet. So it was so exciting mid-season to be able to go back and visit Alberta.
I flew into Saskatchewan to visit some family before driving to Ponoka, Alberta. Ponoka is located in Central Alberta and is surrounded by beautiful fields.
Sam is a photographer herself and planned the wedding so that it would have the best light and locations. I started the day photographing her and her beautiful bridesmaids and Sam's home. From there I went to take a few of the groom and his men. The men wore wrangler's and cowboy hats so I knew it would be a good day.
Their ceremony was in a family friend's field which was in a river valley and had hay bails for seating. The setup was insanely beautiful, and when the sun started to set, I could see why she picked her to get married.
After the ceremony we did some pictures around the area because it was so crazy stunning then I took Sam and Robert, and we went and did some exploring around the area. I had never explored Ponoka, so it was a treat to be able to see all of their favourite spots.
After pictures, it was time for the reception. They had a super laid back bbq surrounded by twinkly lights. It was the perfect way to end their day. I am so fortunate I was picked to photograph their wedding.
