Downtown St. John’s Wedding on Film

When Maggie and Geoff decided to book, I remember how excited I was that they were both lovers of film. I only started introducing film into my wedding photography packages last year and it has been such a fun addition to my wedding coverage. They were planning a full day event and wanted me from early morning to late at night. While I do photograph a lot of smaller elopements, I always love getting to spend the full day with a couple. It gives you a chance to just relax and enjoy your day as it unfolds.

The ceremony took place in the grooms family backyard where his sister and a few other family members had been married before. It was a beautiful location with trees that showed off the fall colours. Guests were greeted with a Champagne Cart as a violinist played the music. They said their vows with a family member officiating. It was such a beautiful celebration to witness.

After the ceremony, we headed to Grotto downtown for some appetizers and drinks with the wedding party and some family. It is such a unique space with intimate lighting and a well decorated interior. It made for the perfect backdrop for a few photos. One request Maggie had was that we get a few photos by the ocean. The day was going by fast but we spent ten minutes chasing the last of the day for a few photos at the Ocean Science Center.

The reception was at the CLB armoury which is a great space is you are having a large wedding. We are limited here for venues that hold a lot of guests. But this space is large and the staff are so nice and accommodating (the manager moved his car so I could park close to the door). The ended the night with yummy food speeches and dances.
