2 Day intimate Wedding At The Fogo Island Inn

If you’re thinking about eloping at the Fogo Island Inn, this blog is for you! Earlier this summer I had the pleasure of heading to Joe Batt’s Arm to photograph an incredible two-day intimate wedding.

Fogo Island has been one of the top destinations on my bucket list for photographing an adventurous elopement. But it is a bit far from the city so I had never visited before. The island has just over 2000 people and is a four-and-a-half-hour drive from St. John’s. And then after waiting in line for about an hour, the ferry ride is just under an hour.

While sitting on the boat admiring the view my beautiful couple walked up to me and recognized me from Instagram. I don’t always get to meet clients before their wedding so it was such a nice way to break the ice and start my journey to the island. They travelled from central Canada and it was their first time visiting as well.

Because Newfoundland weather is unpredictable, I offer the option to book two days for your elopement. It worked out perfectly for these two because we had golden hour the first night and then a foggy day for their actual wedding.

The entire event was planned by the inn. The couple went on a guided tour to pick the flowers for their day. And the Inn shuttled us around the island to the locations I had scouted. in Tilting and Barr’d Island. They had their ceremony on the rocks outside the inn and then finished the night celebrating in the shed. It was such an incredible experience and I am so grateful they brought me along to capture their destination wedding.
