YellowBelly Brewery Wedding

Romantic Downtown St. John’s wedding

Emily and Jack live in Alberta but decided to have their wedding in Newfoundland. YellowBelly Brewery is a downtown staple and I’ve had the pleasure of photographing so many weddings there.

They planned a non-traditional wedding. They didn’t want any getting ready photos; instead, I met them for the first time when I arrived at their ceremony. The couple exchanged vows in front of their friends and family, surrounded by twinkly lights and exposed brick. And then we headed out for some photos.

The plan was to do all of their photos at Cape Spear, but Newfoundland weather can be unpredictable. When we got there, the wind was so strong that we only spent a few minutes there before deciding to go somewhere a little less windy. My best advice on a wedding day is to be flexible (if you are able to). We had enough time that we were able to go to a different location. The nice thing about Newfoundland, especially downtown, is how many incredible locations are so close together.

For their reception, they spent most of the evening hanging out with their guests, eating yummy food and celebrating their love.
