St. John’s Vintage Wedding
Romantic Outdoor wedding in St. John’s
When Janna and Jamie first reached out about their wedding, I knew it would be special. Janna is a forensic anthropologist and Jamie an archaeologist, so it was only fitting that we did their engagement session in a graveyard. During their session, we chatted about everything they had planned for their day. They wanted to make it about them and their love, and when Janna mentioned she would have two dresses—a vintage wedding dress from the States and a more modern look—I couldn’t contain my excitement. I was eager to see them both.
The wedding day started out at Dvele Inn, which is such a stunning space and the perfect location for getting ready photos. I was immediately obsessed with her dress and couldn’t wait to capture their day. They had their ceremony in Torbay, where she walked down a path with a view of some horses behind her and the waves crashing on the cliffs. They shared vows and exchanged rings while the groom’s father performed the ceremony. .
From there we took a few photos around some scenic locations. We also made a stop at The Post Taphouse for a beer since it was where they had their first date.
The reception was at Slainte. It is such a great space for a reception. You get an incredible view of the harbour and the space itself is so lovely.
During their reception the groom and his friend sang and had me in tears. It was such a beautiful moment to witness.
They finished their evening with dancing, cake and celebrating with their friends and family.
