St. John’s Intimate Wedding

A romantic summer wedding with some of Newfoundland’s most beautiful views

There are so many incredible places to get married in Newfoundland, but one of my absolute favourites is along the rugged cliffs of the Atlantic Ocean. I was beyond excited when Cara and David told me they were planning an outdoor ceremony at the cutest Airbnb in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland. They exchanged vows surrounded by a small group of close friends and family, with breathtaking views of the ocean and town below. The location also made the perfect backdrop for relaxed celebration photos after the ceremony.

For their wedding photos, Cara and David wanted everything to feel natural and outdoorsy, very fitting for a Newfoundland elopement style wedding. We started at the Ocean Sciences Centre along the coastline before heading into the woods for a quiet hike. One of the things I love most as a St. John’s, Newfoundland wedding photographer is how many stunning locations we have where you can feel completely alone in nature. Aside from the occasional hiker who might do a double take at wedding attire, lol.

After photos, we made our way to their reception, where they celebrated with a larger group. There was the cutest cake, so much amazing food, and the best laid back vibes.

One special request they had was to sneak away during golden hour for sunset photos, and I am so glad we did. You never know what kind of sunset Newfoundland will give you, but that evening was absolutely unreal. We started near Deadman’s Pond, overlooking the harbour, and then headed up to Signal Hill, stopping at the exact spot where David proposed. Watching the sun disappear over St. John’s was the perfect way to end our time together.
